Every year LEDs Magazine invites vendors to submit written information, photos, and spec sheets about products/solutions that have been released or upgraded in the past year. This information is then used by the Sapphire Awards panel to rank products/solutions based on their unique technology or application thereof, innovation, ease of use, efficiency, reliability, and contribution to profitability.

This year the Sapphire Award’s expert judging panel saw an expansion of SSL products that are designed to positively influence human health and wellbeing. They were pleased to see that the industry has maintained quality design in power components and controls that address needs across varying levels of complexity for SSL system implementation.

Winners will be announced at the third annual Sapphire Awards Gala dinner held on February 14, 2018 which will take place on RMS Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA.

SAN BRUNO, CA, November 17^th, 2017, GREEN CREATIVE, the commercial grade LED lighting manufacturer proudly announces the selection of 8 products by the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) for the 2017 Progress Report. These high-performance LED lamps replace a combination of incandescent, halogen and HID light sources.

The Progress Committee’s mission is to keep in touch with developments in the art and science of lighting throughout the world and prepare a yearly report of achievements for the Society. Acceptance is based on an impartial judging process used by the committee to evaluate each submission on its uniqueness, innovation and significance to the lighting industry. Accepted products will appear in this month’s issue of LD+A magazine.  A digital version of the report is already available.

Among the 8 products selected for the 2017 Progress Report are the REFINE Series PAR38 17W, PAR30 and PAR30SN 13W and PAR20 8W lamps. Each ENERGY STAR® certified lamp features the full-faced, patented REFINE optic and provides industry leading lumen output, candela and efficacy. All lamps come standard in CRI 90, are enclosed fixture rated, last 50,000 hours and are available in spot, narrow flood and flood beam angles.  PAR38 and PAR30 277V versions are also available.

Joining the PAR REFINE Series in the 2017 Progress Report are the A19 10W and A21 14W lamps. With traditional A19/A21 form factors, these enclosed rated lamps have the highest efficacy among all other 75W and 100W replacements. The A21 14W will be available in early 2018.

This year GREEN CREATIVE saw its first HID replacements accepted into the Progress Report with its HID LED 16.5W and 25W products. The ENERGY STAR certified HID LED 16.5W replaces 50-70W HID lamps, emits 2000lm and has an industry leading efficacy of 121 LPW. The HID LED 25W (E26 and EX39 versions) lamp is the first product to utilize a compact A-lamp form factor to replace 70-100W HID lamps. This innovative lamp comes in E26 and EX39 versions and emits over 3300 lumens. Both HID LED products run on 120-277V universal voltages and are ideal for use in bollard, post top and some low bay applications.

The new award-winning PAR REFINE Series includes PAR38, PAR30 long and short neck and PAR20 lamp types in spot, narrow flood and flood beam angles. This year the IES selected the PAR REFINE Series for its 2017 Progress Report, and the PAR38 was chosen by Lighting for Tomorrow as the 2017 Replacement Lamp winner.

All PAR REFINE Series lamps feature the full-faced, patented REFINE optic. This innovative combination of a reflector, focus lens and shaping lens gives the lamp a traditional halogen look while providing excellent light output with a high candela to lumen ratio.

“Building on the success of the previous generation, all lamps in our PAR REFINE Series now feature industry leading lumen output, candela and efficacy in the same great form factor and look,” says GREEN CREATIVE’s Marketing Director, Matt Leonard. “While the industry is trending towards lower lifetime and lower spec products, we just came out with our highest performing PAR lamps ever.”

Compared to its predecessor, this generation features an average 25% increase in lumen output, candela and efficacy. The PAR20 is also now available in narrow flood and spot beam angles, allowing lighting designers to have a small, yet powerful, line voltage option.

Each lamp has typical CRI 90, R9 65 and R13 90 values that provide crisp and vibrant colors across the whole spectrum. These ENERGY STAR^® certified lamps are ideal for applications that demand accurate color rendering such as merchandise, art and food. In addition, color temperatures fall within a 4-step Macadam ellipse to ensure minimal color deviation across lamps.

All PAR REFINE Series lamps are fully dimmable, suitable for use in totally enclosed fixtures and last 50,000 hours. The lamps are available in 2700K, 3000K and 4000K in 15°, 25° and 40° beam angles and in black and white finishes. Select PAR38 and PAR30 models are also available in GU24 and 120-277V universal voltage versions.
